Georgia-Pacific to Spend $500M to Improve WI Paper Mill

On Dec. 16, Georgia-Pacific introduced a serious funding for its paper mill in Inexperienced Bay, Wisconsin.

The corporate will spend $500 million on upgrades that can increase GP’s retail client tissue and towel enterprise.

The funds will add a brand new paper machine that options through-air-dried expertise, and add associated changing gear and infrastructure.

Prep work for the upgrades will start instantly, whereas the brand new machine is ready to start working within the first half of 2024.

The corporate says the funding will create about 150 jobs. The present plant has 850 staff.

The Inexperienced Bay plant makes tub tissue, paper towels, napkins and facial tissue for each retail and away-from-home use.

Georgia-Pacific has invested over $700 million within the manufacturing unit since 2006.
