Feds Sue Truck Maker for Firing Whistleblower

Federal officers final week accused a significant truck producer of violating whistleblower safety legal guidelines.

The Division of Labor alleged that Peterbilt fired an worker who raised issues about its efforts to guard staff in opposition to COVID-19.

In line with the company, the worker requested officers on the Denton, Texas, plant in regards to the matter in March of 2020.

The employee was instructed that the corporate deliberate to scrub work areas and proceed manufacturing as common.

After the worker reportedly pressed the matter with a neighborhood enterprise group, Peterbilt fired the employee for disclosing commerce secrets and techniques and poor efficiency.

OSHA investigators discovered that the employee was engaged in protected exercise, and that the corporate improperly retaliated.

The Labor Division requested a federal court docket to order Peterbilt to reinstate the worker, expunge the personnel document, and supply compensation.
